Eric was my boss for my high school co-op. (He also offered me a summer job.) I was his personal slave, aka assistant web developer. He was a great boss though. So, when my co-op term ended, I felt the need to give him a token of my appreciation.
There was this whole joke around the office that I had heard about. Everyone in the office had called Eric the "web wizard" and even had given him a cape and a hat. He managed the 3 web sites at work (with some little help from me) and any computer issue that came up. So he was the one to talk to when you had a problem. And if he wasn't there, you came to me. So really, the nick name fit him. So naturally, I made a web wizard plushie for him.
The design was quite similar to that of Vivi. The few changes was the
CD base for the hat (gotta love those AOL CDs), the face and the stars
and moons. The hair was a zigzagged piece of felt, and the glasses were
me having fun with a pipe cleaner. Yes, I was trying to get the wizard
to look like Eric. You gotta give me points for trying right? The stars
were fun to do. I painted a big sheet of cardboard then just cut out the
shapes. And I also added a piece of cardboard so the rice inside (so that
it wouldn't fall down) would bulge out.
I liked the overall look of my little wizard the little decorations and
additions like the cape and the stars & moons, the glasses, and the
hanging spider, to me topped it off. I'm happy with my little work of
art and Eric seemed to like it.
